big bang theory!

Transcript: Big Bang Theory! What is it? Big bang theory is a TV program based about 4 nerds who just don't fit into society, but fit perfectly into their own society of geeks, nerds and physicists . Who are these Nerds?! Sheldon is one of the main characters, being a socially awkward genius Leonard is Sheldon's best friend even though he won't admit it. Leonard is in love with their neighbor Penny, a waitress. Howard is the comic of the group and thinks he is somewhat of a babe magnet! Raj is the most awkward of the group as he cannot talk to women unless he is drunk The Girls! Penny is the on-off "girlfriend" of Leonard. She works at the cheesecake factory as a waitress. She eats at Leonard's and uses their wi-fi, despite sheldon's attempts to stop her! Amy Farrah Fowler is Sheldon's "girlfriend". Howard and Raj created a profile for Sheldon on a dating website for a joke and found Amy. She is basically the female Sheldon! "I won't say anything, I merely offer you a facial expression that suggests you've gone insane!" "I can't be impossible- I exist! I believe what you meant to say is 'I give up, he's IMPROBABLE!" "they were threatened by my intelligence and too stupid to know that's why they hated me!" Sheldon Quotes... "If outside is good, then why has mankind spent thousands of years trying to perfect inside!" Bernadette is Howards wife, I know its hard to believe! She is very kind, but is the complete opposite when aggrevated. She also doesn't like children

Transcript: By: Sydney and Zach - Edwin Hubble was the "astrologist" who is credited for the discovery of The Big Bang - Observed that the universe is continuously expanding - Discovered that the galaxies velocity is proportional to its distance were moving further away - Eventually Edwin Hubble's ideas helped support Georges - Static universe models better fit than expanding models Plasma Theory - The universe is continuously expanding - During the 1920's a man named Georges Lemaître first suggested the big bang theory The Continuous Expansion - Then it started to rapidly cool into proton and electron clumps - Edwin Hubble The Beginning - This was before time and space did not exist - He theorized that the universe started from a primordial atom - Singularity: Are zones that defy scientists understanding of physics - It is also feared that once the universe stops expanding that the universe is going to implode on itself Cyclic Universe Theory The Beginning -Steady State -Plasma theory -Inflation Universe -Big Bounce -Cyclic Universe -Big Bang -Nebular or Dust Cloud Theory - Then the helium and hydrogen were pulled together by gravity clouds that would become galaxies A cyclic model is any of several cosmological models in which the universe follows infinite, self-sustaining cycles. Different Theories The Big Bang Theory is an astrological explanation as to what happened in order for the universe to form - - Some scientists believe that the universes rate of expansion is slowing down - The theory that the universe maintains a constant average density with matter created to fill the void left by galaxies that are receding from each other The Beginning - Once the starts start dying they start releasing element crucial to the beginning of life - Turned into a giant hot ball of gas - This is not like the Big Bang Theory The Big Bang Theory The Beginning - Globular clusters seem to be older than the universe The Discovery - Once the cloud has cooled down enough the protons and electrons start bonding to create mostly hydrogen and helium - This singularity was very hot and dense, this triggered a sudden expansion of the nucleus Steady State Theory - As it mushroomed out, the universe was flooded with energy and matter, and the super force separated into basic forces such as electricity and gravity. - As the galaxies go under extreme pressure the first stars are born and then die - The universe is too large to have it only have taken 10-20 billion years to form - This was helped by the discovery of cosmic microwave radiation by Arno Penzias and Robert Wilson - Developed in 1948 by Fred Hoyle - The universe was once compressed into a tiny atomic nucleus known as a singularity - Edwin Hubble made these revolutionary discoveries is 1929 The Big Bang Theory Problems with The Big Bang Theory - After the expansion the nucleus is now an extremely hot area full of electrons, quarks and other particles - Plasma theory studies the abundance of matter in the universe

Transcript: Kunal Nayyar as Rajesh Koothrappali Kaley Cuoco as Penny When the third season premiered on September 21, 2009, it ranked as CBS's highest-rated show of that evening Johnny Galecki as Leonard Hofstadter His principal characteristic is a case of selective mutism which does not allow him to talk to women outside of his family. Rajesh Koothrappali Penny is the main female character on the show. She is Leonard Hofstadter and Sheldon Cooper's neighbor across the hallway, and the main love interest of Leonard. Simon Helberg as Howard Wolowitz Jim Parsons as Sheldon Cooper She is studying microbiology, and is working as a waitress to put herself through school. Big Bang Theory Penny is a waitress at the local Cheesecake Factory with aspirations of becoming an actress Sheldon is characterized as having an overtly intellectual personality Melissa Rauch as Bernadette Rostenkowski Leonard is an experimental physicist who shares an apartment with colleague and best friend Sheldon Cooper Penny is Leonard's next door neighbor and main love interest within the series. For the first three seasons, Johnny Galecki, Kaley Cuoco, and Jim Parsons, the three main stars of the show, received at most $60,000 per episode He works as an astrophysicist in the Physics Department at Caltech. Penny's beautiful appearance and outgoing personality contrast with the main male characters, who are all scientists and geeks. Leslie is another physicist who works in the same lab as Leonard, specializing in high energy physics Howard is a Jewish aerospace engineer at Caltech's Department of Applied Physics. The Big Bang Theory is an American sitcom created by Chuck Lorre and Bill Prady Leslie briefly tries to rekindle her relationship with Leonard after his failed attempt at dating Penny, Bernadette Rostenkowski is a pretty blonde Catholic girl who works at The Cheesecake Factory with Penny Dr. Leslie Winkle appeared in 8 episodes total, 4 credited as main cast. It first premiered on CBS on September 24, 2007 Barenaked Ladies wrote and recorded the show's theme song, which describes the history of the universe and the Earth since the dawn of time he exhibits a strict routine, a tenuous understanding of irony, sarcasm and humor, a vocal admiration for his superior intellect, and a general lack of humility or empathy Sheldon is a Caltech theoretical physicist, who shares an apartment with his colleague and best friend, Leonard Hofstadter he is played by actor Jim Parsons. Parsons has won two Emmy Awards and a Golden Globe for this role. He is distinguished for lacking a doctoral degree, for still living with his mother, and for believing himself to be a "ladies' man". He provides outrageous pick-up lines whenever there is a female present. Lee Aronsohn and Steve Molaro are two of the head writers Rajesh is Howard Wolowitz's best friend and one of the central characters of the show.

Transcript: Dark Energy and Dark Matter More is unknown than is known. We know how much dark energy there is because we know how it affects the Universe's expansion. Other than that, it is a complete mystery. But it is an important mystery. It turns out that roughly 70% of the Universe is dark energy. Dark matter makes up about 25%. The rest - everything on Earth, everything ever observed with all of our instruments, all normal matter - adds up to less than 5% of the Universe. Come to think of it, maybe it shouldn't be called "normal" matter at all, since it is such a small fraction of the Universe. One explanation for dark energy is that it is a property of space. Albert Einstein was the first person to realize that empty space is not nothing. Space has amazing properties, many of which are just beginning to be understood. The first property that Einstein discovered is that it is possible for more space to come into existence. Then one version of Einstein's gravity theory, the version that contains a cosmological constant, makes a second prediction: "empty space" can possess its own energy. Because this energy is a property of space itself, it would not be diluted as space expands. As more space comes into existence, more of this energy-of-space would appear. As a result, this form of energy would cause the Universe to expand faster and faster. Unfortunately, no one understands why the cosmological constant should even be there, much less why it would have exactly the right value to cause the observed acceleration of the Universe.
