We can add a pair of numbers in different ways. The important part is to find strategies that work for us.
ALWAYS start with the big number first. Then count up by ones for the next number.

Use Cubes

the sum is 7
Get out 2 color cubes. For 5+2, count out 5 of one color and 2 of the other color. Then, count all of them together to get the sum.
