Resistors in Series

Resistors in parallel

Rtotal = 1 / ( 1/R1 + 1/R2 + ... )

Rtotal = R1 + R2 + ...

Rtotal = R1 * R2 / ( R1 + R2 )

Rtotal = 100 + 100

= 200 Ohm

Rtotal = 100 + 100 + 100

= 300 Ohm

Rtotal = 1 / ( 1/100 + 1/100 + 1/100 )

= 1 / ( 3/100)

= 100 / 3

= 33.3 Ohm

Rtotal = 1 / ( 1/100 + 1/100)

= 1 / ( 2/100)

= 100 / 2

= 50 Ohm

Rtotal = 100 * 100 / ( 100 + 100 )

= 10000 / 200

= 50 Ohm

Kirchoff's laws

Kirchoff's Current Law

At any node in an electrical circuit, the sum of currents flowing into that node is equal to the sum of currents flowing out of that node, or

Voltage divider

Kirchoff's Voltage Law

The sum of voltages around a loop in an electrical circuits is equal to 0

V = Vbat * R3 / (R1 + R2 + R3)

= 9V * 100 / (100 + 100 + 100)

= 9V * 100 / 300)

= 9V * 1/3

= 3V

V = Vbat * R2 / (R1 + R2)

= 9V * 100 / (100 + 100)

= 9V * 100 / 200

= 9V * 1/2

= 4.5V
