6. What have you learnt about

technologies from the process

of constructing this product?

Animoto - I used this to produce my mood board and when presenting my pitch to the class. I found this very good and effective as it was a good visual representation of my work which allowed me to bring all my research and planning ideas into one short music clip.

Scribd - This website is used for uploading documents such as on word and then enabling you to embed onto your blog. I used this for uploading my feedback sheet. By using this online publishing website I was able to know and be more aware of what websites are avaliable do upload documents as I didn't know this website before hearing about uploading my work on to it.

Microsoft Word - I used this to write up my double page spread so I was able to see where my mistakes where in simple areas such as missed punctutation and basic accidental errors as when writing on a blog post these do not appear. Another advantage was it was keeping a word count for me so I was able to see how much I'd wrote and how much more I needed to write. Using microsoft word enabled me to develop my writing skills and the general practice of typing quick.

Samsung MV800 Camera - This is my camera that I used to take all of my photos that I needed for my magazine. Although it wasn't the highest quality camera it was the best one that was avaliable for me to use. I feel that although it wasn't producing the clearest and best quality photos it still came out with good shots considering this. I took over 200 shots with this camera and trying out some of the effects that already came on the camera which gave me new ideas to try. By using this camera as it was a fairly new camera recently bought at the time and since one of the first times I used it was for my images, it enabled me to explore it and find out what was on it. It then helped me know the camera and get used to the effects it had on it to try and test for my final shots.

Photoshop Elements 9 - This was the editing software that is on the school network which is what i created most of my product with and allowing me to try and practice different effects. After a short brief tutorial of photosop during our preliminary as well as my own practice at home I was very soon confident in using photoshop effectively creating my final product as to how I wanted it to be. Using photoshop was a new skill to me as I have only ever used the odd effect on my computer at home for pictures such as using the red eye removal tool. Therefore by using this application on the computers produced a whole new skill for me as I was able to explore it and learn to use it.

Microsoft Office PowerPoint - I used this to help me when cropping photos, fonts and other elements that have gone onto my final product. It was good as you didn't have to keep making indiviudal documents and could just add a new slide instead this also mean't I was able to keep everything on one document.

Computer - I used the computers that were located at my school, I not only used my lesson time but my free study periods and staying after school to do my magazine. The majority of my product was made during these hours and I spent very little time at home working on it as my photoshop didn't match up to the one at school causing faults when saving. Using computers all the time helped me develop my computing skills and getting quicker at using them by getting used to using a computer all throughout the making of my magazine.

Internet Explorer - I used the internet alot such as for finding my fonts, (dafont.com) information on magazines that inspried me (NME.com), finding out what task needs to be done next (blogspot.com), animototo to produce my moodboard clip.
