Famous Artists

Some of the more notable artists that conform to this genre include Keith Sweat, Luther Vandross, Marvin Gaye and Jodeci. These are all artists that have also made music that are examples of other genres.

Slow Jam

Slow jam comes from Soul Music, which originated in the United States. It began in the 50's and is well known for its slow tempo and connotations with romance.

Instruments

As i said, most of the instruments used in Pop-Folk music are the same that are used in folk music; acoustic instruments such as the guitar aswell as drums and once again, vocals.

Pop-Folk

This sub- genre only refers to small amounts of music, and most class it as folk music. One of the main differences between the Pop and Folk music is the instruments used

Jonjo Murtagh

One of the more notable artists is passenger. He writes in a pop-structure and his music, as well as his video's, relax people and keep them at ease. There are many other folk bands but I feel they conform to other genres.

Acid Jazz

Acid jazz is one of the main sub-genres of jazz music, originating in Chicago and having elements

of Soul, Hip-Hop, Funk and most notably Jazz.

It managed to make it's way over to London clubs in the mid 80's.
