Staff Training
All staff members to receive training from a suitably qualified individual on:
- disability awareness
- safeguarding
- health and safety, lone worker
- data protection, confidentiality
- professional boundaries

Qualified trained support workers
students need to confirm that they understand the cancellation procedure, i.e. who/how to contact, notification period and consequences of not cancelling
- comply with DPA
- records to contain just enough detail to ensure support needs are met
- SW can only carry out the role for which they are registered
- must have appropriate qualifications
- must be members of a relevant professional body
- comfortable and confidential
- accommodates student's disability needs
- should not take place in an open public place
- support via Skype or in student's home ok if specifically recommended on NAR
CPD and Training Records
Confirmation of Support Sessions
- relevant suitable CPD and training, including updating skills in new practices
- updating knowledge of enabling technology and software as required
- date, time, location agreed in advance with student
- session confirmed 1-7 days in advance using 'student's preferred method of communication'
