Branding
Within the music industries cohesive products are an incredibly important and influensive tool. They help keep appeal, as well as the target audience's attention. Whilst also creating a brand image for the band or artist.
By using a screencap from the raw footage for the music video, a cohesion between the products was created.
Although it was not featured at the forefront of the music video production it was indeed used in some aspects. Additionally, the actors are featured fairly prominently in the music video and therefore their presence on the cover of the digipak will be a "flagship" point for the audiences as they will be able to identify the characters.
The main link between all three of the productions is indeed the main two characters. However there has been the use of the same font (trajan pro) in both of the print productions which creates a coherence and a brand between the two of the products.
I did, however, deviate away from using an identical colour scheme to the one used in the music video. This is so that in the future the artist has the option of releasing more music from this EP without the EP being exclusively related to 'Upsteam' only. Therefore the cohesion is at a limited extent for a reason and that reason is future sales.
