-Integration- refers to the coordinated interaction of opposing muscle and sensory system

using their imagination at times and are
at the point where they have increased
personal interest in certain activities.
*Early Childhood- making more
development in motor abilities quite
quickly and rapidly
*Later Childhood- taking motor activities
mastered during early childhood and applying
them to activities to develop fundamental
movement skills that are mastered
*Early Childhood- closed off and shy,
with difficulties sharing with others.
*Later Childhood- more inclined to work
together and become conscious of what
is fair.

1.reflective movement phase- fetus to one year
2. rudimentary phase- birth to 2 years
3. fundamental movement phase- 2-7 years
4. specialized movement phase- 7 and up
Initial- first attempts at performing
skill. Unually uncoordinated but with
valid attempts to succeed at a given skill.
Usually around 2 or 3 years old
Elementary- 3-5 years old.The transition period
between initial and mature stages where children
improve and gain control of movements.
Mature- when a skill or component of a pattern
of movement is very well coordinated, mechanically
correct, and mastered. Performance improves rapidly.
Example would be children being able to throw
farther, run faster, and jump higher.
-Differentiation- gradual progression
from gross global movement patterns of
infants to the more refined and functional
movements of children as they mature
