Analysis of Digipak

We decided to use a 6 panel Digipak, the main reason being because we could use a whole range of different images taken during the shoot. We were also able to illustrate both the character and location well, instantly attracting our target audience.

Another decision we made was to add a colour grade effect to the images we used. This darker pink colour effect we added again attracted our target audience from it being a modern style. Making an album limited edition and with extra tracks and mixes would also attract the target audience making the album more collectible.

We decided this image as our front cover panel. The image clearly demonstrated our character and gave hint to the location of the music video. The "Getting Nowhere" theme of the music video is also demonstrated here, with two further faded images of the character seen to be dissappearing or going nowhere.

This image we decided to use as it really demonstrated our location used in the music video. It gave a very urban British feeling from the image, which would attract to our target audience. Again the dark pink effect was added to show a consistent style throughout the Digipak.

This image saw the introducton of the "MM" logo we created. The character is still the main focus of the image but is more of a shadow, again showing the "Getting Nowhere" theme of the music video by showing him to be insignificant. The "MM" logo gives a clear and obvious trigger to the artist for the target audience.

In this image, the "MM" is more in the forefront of the image, again immediately indicating to the audience the artist of the Digipak. The character this time is facing the camera, and darker contrasts have been edited to the image so that the image looks more shadowy along with the character, setting an enigma to the audience as to what type of character he is.

In this image, the tracklist for the album is given. It is written in a complimentary blue coloured font, and gives extra tracks and remixes showing it as special edition version of the Magnetic Man album. The image behind the track listing is the backdrop image of the location, and establishes a great urban feel to the Digipak, something we wanted to also present in our music video.

The last image of the Digipak has the "MM" as the main attraction of the image, with the hooded character in the forefront of the picture. In the very far of the picture is also a tower block again demonstrating an urban theme accompanied by the hooded character, again showing and hopefully appealing to our audience. The dark pink contrast and colour effect is again added to uphold the consistent effect shown in the entire Digipak.

Overall we feel we have achieved in attracting our target audience in our Digipak. Through the use of colour contrast and images we have designed a Digipak to directly appeal to our target audience and hopefully attract them enough to buy the product.
