Snow and ice: snow is made up of
small crystals,called snowflakes
Water in nature can be:
• Salt water in the sea and oceans.
• Fresh water in rivers and lakes
• Groundwater is water found beneath the surface of the Earth.
• Snow and ice: When water freezes becomes ice and snow
There are three states of water:
Liquid: water we drink
Solid: ice and snow
Gaseous: water vapour
Water is continually moving around
the Eatrh and is causing
the “Water cycle”

These changes are:
• Melting: ice turns into water when it heats up.
• Freezing: Water changes into ice. It freezes at 0ºC.
• Evaporation: water heats up at 100º and turns into water vapour.
• Condensation: water vapour cools down and turns into liquid water.
