Question 2
Because our opening sequence is a romantic comedy we decided that the group we are going to represent is females, also as all members of the group are females it was easier for us to understand everything because we would be a part of the target audience too.
The mise on scene was used to create a lot of meaning and show contrast between the two characters and their different life styles. For example Nina's room is very clean and organized whereas Andre's is very messy with clothes and other stuff all over the floor. When Andre gets out of bed he picks up a t shirt and smells it whereas Nina puts on a dressing gown and goes to the kitchen to have coffee and breakfast. When Nina is doing her makeup, she knows where everything is. She picks up her makeup bag from the dressing table and starts doing her makeup.
How does your media product represent particular social groups?
Overall everything that is in our video iwas done deliberetly to show that we are representing woman with what they do, how they act and what they want in a good romantic comedy
Andre smells his t shirt and decides to go downstairs shirtless which is very appealing to women. Having various shots of him shirtless makes him the object of desire which romantic comedies usually have. There are a lot of different shots of him without the top, for example when he gets out of bed, washes his face and uses his spray.
The shots of Nina are also very important as we see her dressing quite trendy and sophisticated. We also we her walking down Oxford Street which is a very high-end and expensive place to shop.
