How to avoid plagiarism.

  • Quoting
  • Paraphrasing
  • Summarizing

It's OK to plagiarize.

Why?

  • Everyone does it,
  • It's too hard,
  • I won't get caught,
  • I need to get good grades,
  • I have too much to do.

What is plagiarism?

The act of taking someone else's words, ideas, etc. and copy them, pretending that they are their own, as stated according to Longman Dictionary of American English.

  • It is stealing
  • It is cheating
  • It will result in a zero grade for an assignment.
  • It could result in a disciplinary action.

Intentional Plagiarism

  • Copying a friend's work,
  • Copying and pasting information from a website,
  • Copying and pasting a picture without proper citing.
