Looking back at your preliminary task (the school magazine task), what do you feel you have learnt in the progression from it to the full product?
Preliminary magazine cover
This is my preliminary work from my school magazine task. The types of social groups my magazine cover represents are 16-18 year-old students (mainly girls as it is a beauty/fashion magazine). It does this by the colours of the background, text, and the photo.
My magazine followed the codes and conventions of a real life magazine. For example, I have a barcode, a title (Lash), issue number, main articles and a photo.
My title was very unique and creative which made it eye catching to the audience I targeted.
Technology plays a big part in media, which is why it was important that it was, used throughout my media product as technology is what media is all about. The types of technology that I used are: a digital camera, a blog, photo-shop and more. Without all of these things, my magazine cover wouldn’t have been created at all.
I used programs like photoshop to create my final and preliminary peices. This was my main source of technology and I learnt more skills as I developed both products.
I used a digital SLR camera to take the photos for my three magazine pieces and also edited the photos using photoshop
Sometimes, if I got a bit stuck using photoshop, I would use the internet to find guides on how to use and do certain things.
I used the internet for other things too. Such as Flickr for my evaluation, Prezi and blogger to upload my work.

My finished product was enjoyable to create and evaluate. And overall I feel I really benefited from this as I learnt a lot about technology.
