Our Production Name and titles for our movie
The colour blue is represented
throughout all the titles
The affect we have choosen resembles the name as it is quite child like
We choose this as a group because it suits our characters and
after research discovered that there aren't any companies by this name.
We came up with our title by asking a series of people of our target audience which they would prefer to see and which matched our movie. We decided on a series of titles and we asked them to vote. I did this because it helped me to understand the target audience further and what title would attract their attention.
Using a reverse R reflects the title and is a unique way of presenting it.
We wanted our title to stand out so it is a bright white and large
We used a smooth and revealing transition to contribute to creating tension and it also correlates to the music.
To create the first feeling of tension and to set the scene, we used an establishing shot with one of the main characters in the frame. To begin with the audience is unaware of who this person is and who they are watching.
The target audience are faced with several engima codes from the theory of Charles Derry.
At this point I used Non diegetic sound to create a tense atmosphere which indicates the genre but also makes the audience aware of tension and it creates suspense.
The target audience become aware the surroundings. Its ironic that there is danger at a childs playground.
The setting was convient and also it helped to created vunerability for the charcacter as typically a playground is seen as innocent which is a characteristic of the main character.
using the costume to create enigma codes was important as we didn't want to give the charcacter away but we wanted the the audience to understand that their was danger. Sterotypically 'Hoodies' are related to people hiding and disguising themselves.
The audience becomes aware of the surroundings.
The first time we filmed our movie, it didn't create enough tension and we improved this by leading the movie more from the stalkers point of view.
We did this by jumping to the stalker point of view to repeat the eery feeling of being watched.
To show that they are teenagers we created a conversation between the two and that required alot of editing. This was fun and a challenge and i enjoyed editing it. Using final cut as a programme it helped me to put together the whole movie, I was able to focus on the key points that I wanted to include but also we used action and reaction. This is when we see the action then we focus on the reaction of the other person in the conversation. n
There is the same surrounding so the audience can quickly understand that this is hwo the previous person is watching. But also coming from the same angle so that the audience doesn't feel confused.
We meet two characters here by using a two shot. It helps us to establish character and the audience realise that they are easy to relate to because they are of a similar age to them.
From the background you can see that there is more danger as there is no one else around.
To create innocence and vunerability we decided that the charcter had to be alone as this would cause her to be more open to danger and it creates sympathy for her and the audience can relate to her.
Although the character that is leaving notices the person in the hoodie, she does not respond. Howvere, because the person is in a hoodie, this is why she looks. She feels intimidated and her imediate response was to get away.
With this shot, when editing, there was a mixture of two non degetic sounds. The first is to create tension while the second is to build the tension.
A key moment which we filmed was a meeting point when one of charcters meets the stalker. I wanted to show interaction between the characters. It also shows more vunerability as they have come across before without knowing.
We used a technique called dramatic irony, this is when the audience knows something that the characters don't. This is so the audience can join along with the movie and keep them on the edge of their seat.
Here we start to gather an understanding of what this person is really doing.
You can see from the surrounding that this is the same surroundings. The next shot is a clip from the camera which they are holding. This is a point of point of view shot. But this was an important shot to show as later in the we understand what she is doing.
After the following images, the music changes to a music box and this changes the atmosphere of the movie to a more sinister and creepy atmosphere. This keeps the audience on the edge of their seat and creates an eery feeling.
This is scene was very fun to edit. We included many transitions to keep the feeling eery and we used them to pass the time through the clips. It was hard to get the focus right and we had to do alot of editing for the sequence to work. But overall, when we focused on the right aspects it worked well and the atmosphere kept through.
We watch as this person watches what they have recorded. and sit back and focus. This further creates a creepy feeling in the atmosphere and the audience feels worried for the young and they are addressed with a number of engima codes which include who is she? why was she recording?
From the mise en scene, you can see that the house is neat and tidy, this shows some characteristics of this person and have an understanding of what this person is like.
The dark lighting is another factor which contributes to creating a creepy and uncomfortable atmosphere. Its important for this atmosphere to be in place because it makes the audience more aware of seriousness of the situation.
I wanted the audience to re view what was recorded so it is reinforced that she has been recorded. It creates an uneasy feeling and the audience start to feel compassion for the young girl. They start to feel protective of her sub consciensiously and this is what we really focused on.
This shot was particulary special because you can see in this shot that the young girl is looking right at the camera but is unaware of what is happening. It shows that the person in the hoodie was discrete and than the young girl is innocent.
These are the last things which the audiences sees. The paper is important because the audience becomes aware of the young gril in the picture, and they will notice the similarities. But when we zooom in on this you read that its a funeral service, which creates engima codes for the audience and they want to carry on watching the movie. It was important for the audience to be addressesed with this as otherwise they will feel as though it was an unstatisfying beginning.
As the music box closes the music shuts off, this is so the audience feel slightly creeped out and jump. We thought this was a good ending as it still causes the audience to want to know what happens next and the significance of the music box.
The music box is the music which we used in the background although the audience doesn't know it, the music box belonged to the young girl and we wanted the audience o become aware of it from the start.
