Born in Yuma, AZ in 1927
Cesar attended 36 different schools as his family migrated from town to town.
He staged multiple hunger strikes to bring awareness to various causes including the dangers of pesticides.
Si Se Puede was his slogan!
Today we celebrate his life and accomplishments on March 31st of every year!
After serving in the navy and ten plus years of community service, Cesar returned to the fruit and vegetable fields.
He led a boycott of grapes!

From 1962 until his death in 1993, Cesar worked to maintain a union for farm workers.
