The first thing we did was set up a blog with blogger on the computer. This allowed me to be able to document our work throughout the project. Blogger allowed us to be able to post our ideas on to the blog to be able to show our thoughts and ideas progress through the project and allowed us to document our research and planning. By using the blog, it allowed us to be able to show a clear view throughout our research and planning of what we want our final product to be like. This allowed us to give this visual for plan of what we have in mind without having loads of paper based examples of the research and planning.

I have also used blogger in conjunction with other platforms such as scribd, slide share and YouTube. This has allowed me to be able to develop my skills on these other platforms and then publish my work within my blog. This also allowed all the work to be easily accessible on different devices and also blogger is mobile friendly meaning that I could open all my work up on my phone. By being able to access the blog on my phone it also meant that I could get up posts when filming/taking photos for the digipak and the magazine advert, this allowed me to look at my planning and research to make sure that the footage and images are suited to my genera.

Adobe premiere pro

This was the software that we chose to use too edit the music video, we chose to use this software as we had some basic knowledge of the software and there for it gave us a good start when editing our video together. As we did not know how to use the software completely we did end up watching a lot of videos on the software and there for this allowed me to gain knowledge on the software throughout this task. This software allowed us to create a high-quality product and at the same time it allowed me to be able gain skills that would be able to help me in the future as this software is used within industries and this task has allowed both of us to be able to improve these skills. We edited all of this video on a windows computer as it ran the software very well and was quick and smooth to use.

We then uploaded our video to YouTube as this is the best place to upload our video to be able to embed it in to our video. When it was uploaded I then used the embed code to add it to my blogger account to create a post and imbed the video so that it could be on the same platform as all of the other work. The use of this blog allowed me to be able to document all of my work and there for shows the importance of technology within this project and shows the way that media is presented to the audience. This demonstrates how the technology has helped us throughout the coursework and has allowed me to have an easy and well organized ay of documenting my work.

Google chrome and internet explorer where a key piece of technology that helped us through all of the stages of the coursework. This allowed us to be able to access our blogger and other internet based software accounts and there for allowed it to be easy to access over an internet connection. Google chrome and the internet explorer also allowed us to be able to look in to information and key words that we did not know the meaning of. The internet also allowed us to be able to find existing products and there for allowed us to be able to create mood boards and analyse existing products google images was a massive help in gathering the images. This allowed us to get an idea of the styling and all the visuals needed to be included to make sure that we meet the genre of the music and allowed us to follow conventions for our genera, it also plays a massive part in the inspiration for our music video, digipak and magazine advert. The internet also allowed us to be able to access YouTube and there for allowed us to take time to choose the song that we then went on to create the music video for.

Throughout this project we used a variety of technology accessed through the mac computers our mobile phones and are laptops, we used these to access the software and websites needed to document are produce our coursework. By doing this it allowed us to be able to easily document all our work using the computers.

How did you use media technologies in the construction and research, planning and evaluation stages?

Photoshop played a massive part in creating my digipak and magazine advert. This was the perfect software to use as I have used this software before in media and other task that I have done that are not to do with media. This meant that I had the experience to be able to use this software and there for allowed me to be able to create my digipak and magazine advert. When I had finished creating these products the software allowed me to convert them in to JPEGs and there for allowed me to be to post the product on to my blog. By doing this it has allowed me to be able to show a connection between the two technologies.

We also used animoto for the research and planning this allowed us to be able to create the video for our pitch and there for allowed us to be able to have a video that shown our ideas to the viewer only using 25 words. Another piece of technology that we have used is wix this allowed us to be able to create a website for our artist, this allowed us to be able to construct a visual site that shows our artist for our research and planning. I have also used SlideShare to demonstrate pieces of my work like my music video analysis this allowed me to be able to upload PowerPoints’ on to my blog and there for allowed me to be able to post sections of my research and planning that I had created on PowerPoint

As we had individual blogs we had to decide on a platform that would allow us to be able to transfer our documents easily between each other, we did this by creating a folder win google drive. Google drive allowed us to be able to both have access to this folder and there for be able to share and even edit work within the folders this was very helpful and allowed us to be able to constantly be able to get access to the work over the internet.

We also used Facebook messenger and our mobile phones to be able to communicate between each other and keep both up to date on new ideas and allowed us to be able to instantly get in contact with each other when we got an idea this allowed us to be able to brainstorm ideas and there for influenced us and allowed us to be able to come up with our final products.

We used a Nikon d3400 this was owned by Ali who is working with me on this project, this meant that he had experience using the camera before doing this task and there for meant that he could teach me the basics but at the same time meant that there were no silly mistakes when filming the video. This camera allowed us to have high quality well filmed footage and using the grid within the camera meant that we also had well framed footage.

I was also in charge of making sure that the portable speaker was set up to the correct section that we wanted to film. this allowed us to be able to make sure that when we where filming the song was playing as well this allowed us to be able to make sure that the lip syncing was in time and looked as real as it could possibly look. This also meant that when we needed to re film sections it was easy to know where to start the music as I also had the story board up on my phone.
