Monitoring tool to assist local authorities to monitor the energy and the respective CO2 emissions. The initially developed Business As Usual (BAU) and ISEAP scenarios can be compared with the real monitored data.

On 19 January 2012, 388 MEPs signed the Written Declaration adopted by the European Parliament recognising the Pact of Islands as an official EU initiative and asking the European Commission for continued support.

After the approval of a European Parliament Resolution regarding specific EU support for island communities, the European Union approved in the budget of 2008, in December 2007, a budget line of 3 million € to finance island-specific actions.
