What is Solar Enegy?
Solar Energy is a natural type of energy that is harnessed from the suns rays and heat & radiant energy emitted by the sun.

How electricity is produced from this source?
So basically, we get solar energy from special made panels, which are called solar panels, they work by absorbing heat, light and rays from the big round yellow & orange sun and converted into energy that goes through our homes and gets transfered into electricity.
What are some advantages of this type of energy ?
- Solar energy is free though there is a cost in the buliding of "Collectors" & other equipment required to convert solar energy into electricity or hot water.
- Many everyday items such as calculators and other low power consuming devices can be powered by solar energy effectively.
Personal Opinion on whether this type of energy production should be used as a source of electricity ?
What are some disadvantages of this type of energy?
- Solar power stations can be bulit but they don't match the power output of similiar sized conventional power stations. And on another note they are really expensive.
- Solar power is used to charge batteries so that solar powered devices can be used at night. However that batteries are large & heavy & need storage space. They also need replacing from time to time
