Initial Plans
After brainstorming lots of different ideas and the finalizing to University, Makeup and Jewelery; we decided to go ahead with the idea of Makeup for our Documentary. We decided to look at all aspects of makeup from, drag queens and male makeup to the skin threats makeup threatens. Our main focus is to look at how makeup is an identity. We wanted explore how people depend on makeup and how some people have to wear makeup for their job even if they don't want to.
Title
We currently have our Title as 'The Bare Truth', this is an pun which shows that are documentary is not too serious, but as it includes the word truth, shows that it will have an informative side to it.
Scheduling
We chose to air our show on Channel 4 at 8.00pm on a Tuesday Night.
We chose Channel 4 because we know it already appeals to a younger target audience so therefore would comply with our target audience too. Channel 4 is know for its different documentaries for the minority so I think this was a good choice for our genre of documentary. We made the choice to have our documentary at 8.00pm because this is not too late as it will be on a weekday, but is the similar time documentaries in our genre are usually played. This time also does not interfere with any soaps people may be loyal too. We chose a Tuesday to play our documentary because it is earlier on in the week so people wont be going out and will also have the weekend to act on our Documentary.
Target Audience
Our target audience is for males and females ages 16-30. We chose this target audience because we know makeup appeals to a wide range but to appeal to the older ages we would have to have a deeper side to our documentary, whereas we want our documentary to be light-hearted and not too in depth with the seriousness of makeup. We have chose to appeal to male and females because we know both sexes wear makeup in this modern age.
