Transformation of Komal
Before:
Here Komal is seen to have no 'hip-hop' aspect to her look. She is seen to have her hair tied back and wearing simple clothing. For Komal to make it as a mainstream 'hip-hop' artist, she needs to have a drastic change in order for her to appeal to her target audience and match up to the requirements of the record label.
After:
Komal has now been tranformed into the rapstar "K-Zee". Her image reflects the 'hip-hop'genre too. K-zee's outfit consists of baggy jeans, trainers, an oversized hoodie, a tattoo, a cap, sunglasses and a dog tag.
As her clothing is seen to be quite
masculine, make up would help establish
her as a female rapper.
Awards:
As K-Zee is an up and coming artist
she has to make sure that she is seen in the right place, at the right time and with the right people. Being seen at well known award ceremonies such as the BET awards or MTV Music awards allows her to promote herself.
Collaborations:
Performing with other artists from the same genre who
are famous and well known helps to boost K-Zee's profile
and gives her the kick start she needs so that when she
releases her own material, the target audience will
already be familiar with her and her music.
