We then get a mid-shot from the side as he looks up into the sky before leaving bag on the ground beside him...

We then get a close-up on the railing of the bridge, 5 seconds before we see Kevin's hands grip the railing and slowly tighten up/shake.

After witnessing the flashbacks of Kevin's life, we come back to reality where he is still slowly approaching the bridge, tormented by his past.
