Initial Ideas

Genre

We have decided to make our genre "Unexpected Horror" as it's something that is quite unique and we feel it will be successful with our chosen idea as even though it is traditionally aimed at a niche market, we feel that our trailer will apply to a range of audiences and attract positive opinions and feedback.

Initial Ideas

PROPS

We have a few intial ideas regarding props of which we would like to include in our trailer:

- cigarettes

- alcohol

- powder paint/powdered chalk

- food

- bonfire (to be confirmed)

- clothes

- tents (tbc)

- festival gear (such as boots etc)

Car Trip

We've decided that we would like to include a road trip into our trailer to add another dimension for our audience as we want to be as creative as possible, and we believe that including a few short clips of a car either moving/outside of the car will be effective. Also by using this we can play around with camera angles, shots, movement and composition. We have also thought this through even though this is just the beginning process as we know people that would be willing to contribute by driving and being a part of our trailer.

This is the kind of shot we would like to achieve.

Skins + Misfits as inspiration

We have looked at a couple of TV programmes which have aspects that we would like to use in terms of shots and also themes. The first TV programme that we looked at was Skins, mainly focusing on their behavior, activities and also their locations used for parties, and one of the locations used was in a forest (series 3), which supported our wants and needs for our trailer as we would like it to be featured mainly in a forest/field which are fairly close to each other. The other TV programme that we looked at less in depth than we did with Skins was Misfits, which is fairly similar as it features young adults/teens with similar characteristics and attributes, but the storyline is considerably different.

Video Inspiration

At first, we were stuck for ideas as we had certain visions in our minds, but we couldn't express it effectively, so we used some music videos to spark our imagination and creativity. Below are our two main music video inspirations, which are titled "We found Love" by Rihanna. And our other video is "Stay Awake" by Example..
