They have a fun aspect to their music, targeted at mainly children as a Euro dance Pop Group. With cartoon-like tunes and simple lyrics that enables everyone to sing along to. When you hear their name it just makes you feel jolly, and makes you want to dance. But can be seen as quite annoying to some people as they are really jolly people and this comes across in their music, and music videos. They are best known for their two singles 'Boom, Boom, Boom, Boom!' and 'We're Going to Ibiza'. These are both party-like tunes, with a catchy tune and catchy lyrics which make you find yourself singing along to without realising it. They have sold an estimated 15 million records worldwide and are renowned for being one of the most influential Eurodance pop groups of the early 21st century. On 2 May 2001, The World Music Awards awarded Vengaboys with the award for best selling dance group of the year. Which shows both their creativity and popularity. Usually, to be a dance group you have a distinctive dance sequence or movement which enables people to recognise which band this is and where it's came from. With the Vengaboys this was done through their extravagant choice of outfits, which they would have been styled in specifically to stand out from the crowd and be recognised before they start singing or dancing. A lot of their outfits were very dress-up like, such as a Sailor, or Doll. They performed like this, giving them a connection to themselves and dressing up as particular characters.
