Day In the Life

The weather and the season play a big part of what a gardener does for the day.Autumn means hedge cutting, clearing, planting and catching up on the jobs that not have been able to get done due to the many summer months of mowing.The job involves a lot of forward planning. Gardeners always have to think a season ahead. But Gardeners do a lot of designing flower beds and do a lot of lawn care and hedge trimming . But it all depends on the weather.

Skills Needed

A Gardener should enjoy physical and outdoor labor.

They also need to work alone for many hours and work with other Gardeners for many hours.You need to have a flexible schedule and always have weekends available. many high schools and colleges offer vocational programs in botany and horticulture that will only benefit someone wishing to build a career in this field

A Gardener is a person involved in any form of gardening (example landscaping.)

The gardener's primary responsibilities vary with the seasons. A successful gardener will have extensive knowledge of fertilizer and chemicals to keep struggling plants alive.A gardener may also be expected to cut and water lawns, remove snow and dead leaves, paint and refinish outdoor patio furniture and pick up litter and empty trash receptacles.
