Copyright Rules
Plagarism is taking someone else's work,
cropping it into your own, and saying it's yours.
If you use something from an article or off the internet or in a book you have to put it in your own words
You can't share files that aren't public domain without
asking permission from the copyright source.
You can use something that is copyrighted for educational purposes only, such as educating a class.
you can't use something of someone's if it has a copyright
If you are using a video, you have to keep the original video. You can't edit it.
You can download things for educational purposes as long
as you don't use it for a commercial add or
download it for someone
Videos can't be reused or posted on a different website if it's not yours.
Public domain is anything that is resuable for your own use.
Ex: tag galaxy, google (with advanced search), etc.
If you put something, such as a song, onto things like Youtube and other websites similar, it'll send it back to you and say it's copyrighted.
Ex: putting a song from iTunes onto Youtube.
You can print copies of pics. and text for educational purposes only
To use something copyrighted, you have to ask permission over letter or email to the original copyright holder.
If you meet the guidelines, you don't have to ask permission for use
you can use 10 percent or two pages from a children's book that is short
- you can use 10 percent or 1,000 words
- depending on which is less
