I researched into the different conventions of a music magazine. I applied most of the conventions to my magazine to make it stand out more.

My product uses conventions of real media products. For example, the front cover of my magazine has multiple conventions such as a masthead, main image, main tag line and sub headings.

The front cover of my magazine also has secondary images. I liked this about my magazine. I tried to develop this convention by using different types of images then normal magazines use. I used concert photos whereas other magazines usually use photo shoot images. I think using concert photos make my magazine look more interesting.

I used the same background that was on my front cover on my contents page. This was a theme for my magazine. The contents page looked too plain without it but if I used a different background it might have made the magazine look too in your face. Therefore, I think using that background on two pages was a good idea.

In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?

I had my competition on the contents page rather than the front cover which is where most magazines have them. I did this because it makes the contents page more interesting and no other magazines do this.

My used a pull quote on my DPS. I made it big and spread it across one of the pages which would draw readers in and make them want to read the article.
