Sport Rules
- Jumpers must take off on one foot.
- A successful jump is one in which the crossbar remains in place when the jumper has left the landing area.
- Competitors may begin jumping at any height announced by the chief judge or may pass, at their own discretion.
- Three consecutive missed jumps, at any height or combination of heights, will eliminate the jumper from competition.
Equipment
High jumper’s shoes can have a maximum thickness of 13 millimeters in the sole and 19 millimeters in the heel.

LANDING MAT
Beitia first broke the Spanish record in 1998, jumping 1.89 m. She raised the record progressively up to 2.02 m, the current Spanish record, which she achieved on 4 August 2007. She is the first and the only Spanish woman to have jumped higher than two metres.
Medals:
- Gold: in 2005 in Almería, in 2013 in Gothenburg, in 2012 in Helsinki, in 2014 in Zürich, in 2016 in Amsterdam, in 2016 in Rio de Janeiro.
- She is a Spanish high jumper and politician who is the reigning Olympic champion in the women's high jump.
- She was born in Santander, Cantabria, Spain, on 1st April, 1979.
- She is 1,92 meters tall and she weighs 72kg.
- Her parents are: José Luis Beitia and Aurora Vila.
- She has four siblings their names are: José Antonio Beitia Vila, Joaquín Beitia Vila, Juan Antonio Beitia, Inmaculada Beitia Vila.
