- We leave out cookies and beer for Santa Claus
- Before bed, we read The Night Before Christmas
- The Christmas celebrations start the day after Thanksgiving
- "Black Friday": Stores have big sales. Many people go shopping for Christmas presents because gifts are very cheap
- In the weeks before Christmas day, people decorate their homes with Christmas lights and a Christmas tree.
- People send their friends and families Christmas cards
- Most people get off from work or school a few days before Christmas and don't go back until after New Years
- People make and decorate Christmas cookies to give to friends
- On Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, people have big feasts with their families and sometimes go to church
- There are many classic movies that we watch every Christmas
- People decorate their houses with scary decorations
- They hollow out pumpkins and carve faces and put candles inside them. These are called jack-o-lanterns.
- Children dress up in costumes and go trick-or-treating: They visit their neighbors and ask for candy
- Adults dress up and go to parties. Usually there is a costume contest. The person with the best, funniest, or scariest costume wins a prize.

- My family and my uncle's family go out to eat at a Japanese restaurant

- Thanksgiving comes from when the Pilgrims came to America in the 1600s.
- They didn't know how to care for the animals or grow their food, so the Native Americans taught them how
- The next year, to thank the Native Americans, they had a big feast
- Today, we celebrate Thanksgiving on the 4th Thursday of November
- We eat a big turkey and have a big feast with our families
- It is a holiday to remember to be thankful for what we have: So we spend time with family and eat lots of food
