I also used Adobe Illustrator to draw the graphics I used in the poster. Using the different drawing features and colouring features, I was able to trace my actors from an imported photograph on a different layer. I was then able to export my finished drawing as image files tht I could then use in Indesign. Indesin allowed me to piece together all of my images while also allowing me to import a lot of text and shapes. This made me able to arrange my work across layers to form my poster and my review page in to separate documents. I was also able to change the opacity of some images to have them fade in the background.
To evaluate my work, I used Prezi for two of the questions. This website allows the users to create presentations that look quite origonal and more entertaining by using differnet designs and smooth transitions. I was able to include a lot of information on the slides and the tools are easy to use. I am able to add slides, images and text to my presentations. The formatting is also easy to do because resizing photos and adjusting the spacing of the features is as easy as clicking a button.
For the research and planning stages of creating my media products, I used a lot more basic softwares than what I did in the later stages. First of all, I created a second blog on www.blogger.com to upload the whole process of creating my media products. I used this almost like a diary to keep tack of what I did and on what days. I was then also able to see what I needed to do next and I believe this makes my work a lot more easily accessed. I was also able to look at other people's media blogs to get ideas for my work.
I used a Canon Legria Hd Camera to record my footage. This is because this camera had quite smooth footage and was able to film at 60 frames per second. The quality of the footage was really good and the sound was recorded quite loud using this camera too. I used another HD Canon Camera to take the photographs used for my review page and the credits because the first camera was made to video and the second one was made for photography. This was to make sure I got the best quality photos for my work so I could easily edit them if necessary.

To draw my characters used in my poster, I used a Wacom Bamboo graphics tablet. This meant that I was able to draw using a pen onto a screen for much easier drawing. A mouse is difficult to draw with and I had this graphics tablet at home so I used to make my creating process a lot more easier and smoother. This made the shapes that I had drawn more accurate too which helped to make the characters look like the actors.
I also made a podcast to answer one of my questions. To do this, I recorded an answer that I had prepared in Microsoft word in Audacity. This is a free software that allows people to record and edit their sound or music. The features include cropping the audio, repositioning audio, adding effects and much more. I was able to export this as a music file which I then used in iMovie to add images to my recording to make what I was describing easier to understand.
I visited Youtube a lot during the whole process but I mostly looked at Youtube at the start. This was to watch short films that had already been uploaded to the internet. I was then able to constantly see the features in a short film and was able to create my own using inspiration from the uploaded short films. Some people like 'Tomska' and 'Chewingsand' have uploaded various short films onto Youtube because this is their way of showing their content to a mass audience. They are very good at it and are able to use bigger budgets for sets, actors, special effects and equipment.
To piece all of my footage together, I used iMovie. This software is built into apple macs and is easy to use. I was able to import my footage, edit the timing, add effects, use transitions and add extra sounds or music. This software was exactly what I needed. Although the features on this software are pretty basic compared to payed for softwares, I was able to use this because I didn't need anything too special for my short film. I was then able to export my short film as a high quality video file to be marked and a low quality video file to be uploaded to my media blog.
I used a lot of Adobe products during my construction stages. I used Adobe flash to animate my introduction to my short film because the title screens that were in iMovie were not what I wanted so I decided to animate my own. I was able to draw and use shapes for the images. I was then able to motion tween the shaped to animate what I wanted. I ended up animating my production company by having a pencil write my production company bit by bit and I animated a door slamming and locking my title screen in. This was appropriate for my short film as it is about being trapped inside as the name implies.
To get the music for my short film, I used a website called Incompetech. This website allows users to search for royalty free music by using genre and feeling as the search options. This quickly narrows the huge gallery on the website to meet the users requirements. All of the music is free to use an is quite a good quality.
Although I have already mentioned blogger for the planning stages, I used Blogger the whole time to blog work and to evaluate it. I was able to write my answer into the blog and then I was able to add images to my answer too. The kayout can be a little difficult to get right because of the simple features that Blogger includes however, I believe this was a good website throughout the whole process.
For most of the writing that I needed to do, I used Microsoft Word. I was able to use this to create surveys that I could ask students to fill in for my short film preparations. I was also able to easily create a script for my actors to follow. Word allows me to use basic function like bolding text to make a script a lot more easier to understand. This would be done by making the actors names bold thus sepeating them from the dialogue.
