Activity 3

What have you learned from your audience feedback?

Class and teacher feedback on your inital treatment

Inital treatment

Positive feedback

  • Good choice of pop song
  • Different camera shot ideas with intertextual reference
  • different and unique

From the feedback we recieved we were very happy with our song choice and our ideas in order to make this a really good pop video.

Negative feedback

  • Too much repition

We decided that in order to not make the

video boring we needed more costumes, the

costumes had to be different from what we

would normally wear and had to fit in with the

target audiences needs.

Rough Cut- class and teacher feedback

I was very happy with the feedback I

recieved for my rough cut. I felt that

I had started something really good which

would turn into a successful pop music video.

The effects I used said to have matched the theme

of the song and the music itself as I used a colour

effect in which i changed the colour of Shoes and

the faces of the bandmates.

Negative feedback

In regards to the negative feedback I recieved, after

watching the rough cut again I realised what mistakes

I had made and how I could address these in order to make the music video good. I was told I needed to add more narrative into the video and more items to do with fashion such as more shoes and costumes which are different. The effects I used were good although as the beat of the tempo is fast I could change the speed of my video in order for it to match.

Class feedback on Digipack roughs

Front cover: The main responce for the front cover was good

although I was told that maybe I should incorporate the colour of

the bandsname into the album cover for example using red as the

solid background cover rather than pink which is classifies as a girly

colour.

Back cover: The back cover was said to be plain and needed to be laid

out in a more attractive way. Also the song titles needed to be put in order

of how many words each song title contained as it would look messy otherwise

Magazine advert: The feedback I recieved for the magazine advert was over whelming.

Everyone liked the way I incorprated the colour green into the albums name "Envious Eyes."

Envy is usually associated with the colour green and I decided to make this link together. I also

was told that the images I used were fun and eye catching therefore taking the consumers attention

and drawing it in.

Final version of everything - class feedback and feedback from anyone else.

I wase extremely pleased with the feedback I recieved for my

final products. Without the previosu feedback I wouldn't have

reached thus far. I decided to use a bright red colour for the background

colour of the whole album as this links together with the bands name. I have used uses and gratifications in order to target my target audience and make

the band noticable and recognisable by the magazine advert.
