The font I chose was a good choice because it was bold and simple , and also the added different colours made it more attractive and therefore , I believe is represents the social group of 16 – 39 year olds as their lifestyles are bold, fun loving and the best years of their life as they are surrounded by friends and family. In my images used the model’s facial expressions are quite bossy with a sense of attitude- she knows she’s good, she’s also happy which appeals to my audience more as no one likes to read a magazine that’s unappealing with an unattractive expression. I feel that my overall layout adheres to its house style really well. It’s not too crowded but it’s enough. It is easy to understand all pages as they are clear and separated by boxes for subheadings most definitely don’t want to be spending hours of their time just trying to understand it and reading through loads of text to get to the main articles that they actually want to read. The range of bold and bright colours contributes to the youthful look I am trying to put across to my audience to get the attention of my chosen social groups. From my questionnaire I have evaluated that the best colour combinations that people want to see are as showed, also in the shelf the dark and bright colours will stand out, my audience clearly likes this as they was the deciders when doing my questionnaire I set out in order to find out specific information. As your teenage years are usually filled with showers of homework, peer pressure and exams. The main point of my magazine was to show the fun side of growing up and getting your own way and I believe that my magazine’s clearly shows this.
My model on my Front Cover of my magazine is clearly between the ages of 16-17. Also because the model is white and female it will attract a white male/female audience but also black male audience because R&B originated from them and it is what the genre is all about. I feel my magazine would be popular in this social group as R&B is a very recognizable genre as it is publicized in the media through celebrities and big music artist such as Chris Brown and Beyonce. In theory people of ages 16-39 would buy the magazine as it would relate to them because that’s how old the models in the magazine are and that’s the ages that it’s focused on in the magazine. The fonts I used were meant to be simplistic, bold and basic, this was to help reach out to a wider audience, also the colour scheme appeals to both genders at it is not bright pink which would stereotypically appeal to females also I used my colour scheme which is white, orange and black and the occasional odd colour to make things link together more. I believe it effectively reflects my target audience, which are 16 to 39 year old males and females.
My magazine also represents particular social where teenagers and young adults can relax from loads of homework that they get and just to aspire and think how they could reach their dreams by reading the success stories of new young artists who have worked hard and already made it to the top, this shows that people can change their lifestyles to suit their needs in terms of how they want society to see them and this helps portray that anything is possible. I believe that the uses of different bright colours throughout my music magazine, will influence the colourful and bold side from a teenagers into becoming a young adult, it also resembles the lifestyle you are about to leave behind the careless, money wasting side and bring on the hard work, determination and the skills needed to become successful and get your place in life. The use of the model being quite young helps me represent the social group of 16 – 39 year olds, as it portrays their interest and appeals to the younger audience. Some may think that 39 is old but I personally feel that your still young until the age of 39 and will still want to be reading R&B magazines.
