Women in this novel are based on the real liv TV show which aired from 1990-2000. In this specific chapter "Dating: The Passive Female" women are prtrayed as chatty,gossipy,backbiting about other people and their relationships. In this scene Jeanette(a characther from the TV program) is speaking with Graham(the author of the book) about somebdoy else's romantic relationships. They are portraying the women in the media as the center of gossip because they have the knowledge of what occurs in this specific event rather than considering about what is happening in their life. Instead of talking about their life they talk about others. This book is baes on the hit TV program in 1990. It was intended to appeal to older teens,young twenties and mostly females whom related this TV program to ntheir everyday life.
