I am Khem Slawson, 17 yrs old and I will be working with Rachael Halstead throughout this media project. I decided to work with her because she is interested in ‘Pop’ which is the same genre that I wanted to do for our music video. The advantage of working with her is that we can get on well with the tasks which are set to do as we have known each other for awhile and we also go to the same school which will be easier for us to communicate.
I like Call Me Maybe because the tempo of the music is quite upbeat and catchy which makes you feel lively and puts you in a good mood.
This is one of my favourite songs because the lyrics are meaningful to me and sometimes it relates to the situation I am in.
I love this song because the tempo is upbeat and I like the small rap near at the end. Also, they have clear structured music video as the narrative is very understandable, good use of mise-en-scene and portraying different characters within the video which makes it look like a mini action movie.

The type of genre I have picked?
After doing some research on different types of music videos from the internet, I have decided to do pop music for different reasons. Firstly, this type of genre interests me as every time I listen to this kind of music, it makes me think of re-making the music video by using my own concepts. And also most of my favourite songs and the one that I always listens to are mainly classed as pop genre or they are or they are one of the top songs in the charts.
