this video is a narrative video. in the video consists of a journey, hence the car always used in the video. this therefore connotes how they could be looking for 'somebody to love' which therefore relates to the name of the video 'Nobody To Love'
in NTL the main props are cars and skateboards, these then could be interperated as being care free but it also links to the fact the video is about journeys. however in afterglow there are many props used, these are mainly used to describe different aspects of there relationship this can include 'there favourite toy' and shoes that have been placed in a pile to emphasise the bold text infront.

the locations in NTL include a rural landscape, in the form of mountains and a road along the sea, this could therefore suggest how there in a country such as italy. however in afterglow the location is more presumed as there house, such as the fact the initial shot is of there flat to establish the whole location of the video.
Clothing
what is halls reception theory?
The clothing in the videos vary, in NTL they wear more summer clothing such as beach clothes e.g. bikinis and komono's. however in afterglow they wear more modern, and classy clothes. meaning they are waring normal everyday clothing such as jeans and a shirt.
by using recognised codes and conventions, halls theory draws upon the audiences expectations, realating to certain aspects of the video, e.g. Genre. this therefore means the producers can influence an audience and create a different persepective to what they are seeing. (preffered reading)
