A little about me:
Welcome 4th graders! I am really looking forward to getting to know each of you this year. Check out some more of this presentation for important information that you will all need to know!
MINIMUM # of lessons to be completed weekly:
There is a lot to be done during your first week at NVVA. Check out the circles below for some specific things you should be focusing on.
All school age students in Nevada are required to attend school. NVVA is subject to Nevada attendance laws. Students will be marked present by making adequate progress every week.
You can guarantee you're making attendance by following your Weekly Plan and completing all lessons assigned each day.
I understand that emergencies happen. Please let me know as soon as possible if you will be absent for any reason.
Class connect sessions are our live classes. It is important that you attend these classes because we will be working on projects this year, and most of your instruction will come during our class connects. Classes will be Monday - Thursday from 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm. You can find the classes listed on your Daily Plan.
Stick to your Weekly Plan. Your Weekly Plan shows what lessons you should be completing daily. By following your Weekly Plan, you will be sure to stay on track.
What is the PLA? A tool that helps Ms. Frehner see what skills you came to 4th grade with.
What subjects will I be tested in? Math and Reading
Can anyone help me? Nope. I want to know what YOU know. (Don't worry. This isn't for a grade.)
For more information, check out
the PLA k-mail sent by Ms. Frehner.
Every student at NVVA must complete the WOL course before their regular courses will show up.
Ms. Frehner's recommendation: complete this course on your first day! (It's really easy - only 3 lessons)
If you are absent even for one week, a behavioral plan will be put into place to make sure you get back on track. Multiple absences will escalate to a behavior contract and possibly a required parent conference with administration.
It's really important that you are working and learning every week, so try really hard to not have any absences this year!
Every 4th grade student at NVVA must
have their own OLS login. If you are
unsure how to do this, please ask Ms.
Frehner for more information.
There is so much information that is important for you to know, and that will be passed along as the year goes by; however, check out some information right here that Ms. Frehner wants you to know right away!
Academic integrity is a BIG deal. Sometimes you might do poorly on an assessment. To ensure that you have truly learned the content, please wait at least 24 hours to retake an assessment. There will be consequences for issues with academic integrity.
Make sure that you are studying
Nevada in your state history course.
No other state will be accepted.
