To participate, you must be a student in grades 6-12 who can present a completed project or prototype and provide a short demonstration and presentation on your project.
If you're a student: talk to your teacher/mentor/program leader about participating!

Emoti-Con! was developed to address the need for a space where youth from tech- and media-oriented organizations across NYC could collaborate and get some much-needed face-to-face time. It's an event that lets youth get offline and connect through their common identity as youth media producers and technologists--and win prizes and recognition for the incredible work they do throughout the year!
Winners of last year's prize for Most Potential for Social Impact explain their project, a technical manual for students with autism.
Throughout the year, youth across NYC are busy
making amazing digital media and technology projects that can serve their peers, support their communities, educate others, and affect real change.
Starting March 30, we ask them to sign up to present these projects and compete at Emoti-Con! From then until June, we work with these youth and their adult teachers, mentors, and supporters to make sure their projects meet the goals of Emoti-Con!, and that on the day of the challenge they will have everything they need to make their projects shine!

After a delicious lunch, professionals from fields like video game design and computer securities gave short talks, and joined the crowd as we circled the conference hall to see all the incredible projects on display.
At the end of the day, the team of tech professionals selected 5 projects as finalists. Each finalist presented their project in front of the entire crowd, who then voted on the winners...and the Grand Prize winners took home a $300 Best Buy gift certificate!
