Digital citizenship is the norms of appropriate, responsible technology use. (Ribble) Basically, digital citizenship is how we should act and preform within the internet community.

The use of digital citizenship is important at any grade level.
In my grade level, 11th, it is important because their internet personalities have already been established through social media.

Showing proper etiquette such as in emails
Making the proper presense.

In 11th Grade....
Teachers can assign research-like projects to test digital citizenship.
Require blog post comments in a professional tone
Require professional emails
My grade level, 11th, is already very tech savvy.
Social media and instant messaging have not trained them well in digital citizenship etiquette.
They will need to be taught how to properly address the professional online community and use the information they find safely.
