"How effective is the combination of

your main product and ancillary texts?"

Our Final Music Video:

"Hate This Part Right Here."

Digipack Album:

Exterior Cover:

Interior Cover:

Our digipack album has been created in order to represent our artist's persona

and characteristics, as well as matching the style and genre characteristic of our

music video. The colours contrasted together in the digipack have been used for

the reason that we wanted to help aknowledge and draw attention to the

bubbly, energetic and fun character that is one side of our artist's personality.

The black backgrounds which have been added to the panels draws attention to the artist not having discovered a part of her life, yet. She is still trying to learn about who she is as an artist. However, the bright colours emerging through the panels suggests that she still knows who she is and wants to show off what

she is capable of as an artist. Our target audience is people aged between 13-29, that is, people who are able to relate to our artist as they can connect with her and think to themselves,"yeahh... I can relate to that."

For our magazine advert, both myself and Khushel decided to use the same image that was originally used for the front panel of our digipack album. One of the main reasons for this decision is because, we wanted to ensure that we promoted the artist successfully and we thought that by duplicating the image it would grab more peoples attention, as those who had either seen the digipack or magazine advert first would remember who the artist is and what they are promoting so they would become more inclined to go out and buy the digipack.

We made sure that our magazine advert would relate to our final music video in order for our artist's fans to be able to constantly make the link between the artist's music video, her digipack and her magazine advert. It would hopefully capture our artist's fans attention and would help to promote her using different forms of media technologies.

A major link between our magazine advert and final music video is that, the leather jacket worn in the night scene whereby the couple begin to argue with one another and decide together to end their relationship, is the same jacket that our artist is photographed wearing in our magazine advert and front cover of our digipack. This creates a clear correlation between the advert and the video. Furthermore, the vulnerability that the artist is expressing via her body language in both the magazine advert and the music video instantly creates and draws out similarities between the two products. Again, with the artist expressing her vulnerability it heightens her emotions and allows her fans to have a connection with her and to sympathise with her.

Throughout the planning, designing and construction of our ancillary tasks, we decided to keep the same theme, that is, 'caligraphic fonts' and contrasts of bright colours in order to highlight to our fans that the digipack and magazine advert is related and linked to eone another.

The font used for our magazine advert showcases the album's rating which were recieved by music critics and journalists. We decided to stick to the same caligraphic, black font to continue the theme of dark coloured texts used for our ancillary tasks. Additionally, caligraphic font might be perceived as a feminine font due to swirls and flicks attached to the end of each individual letter, this could reflect the artist's sweet, innocent and soft side of her personality. What is more is that i also enabled us to create the digipack and magazine advert successfully, making sure it looked attention grabbing but still remained professional.

Magazine Advert:

All three of our products, the digipack album, the magazine advert and our music video conveys an innocent, sweet, sassy and confident female artist, who can often be found surrounded by sadness and pain. Whether, it is the darkened background within the digipack or the shots of our video which are set during the night, it is evident that our artist's only way of expressing her emotions and letting them out is through her songs. Evidently, our video, "Hate This Part," is a clear example of this, for she sings about the breakdown of a relationship that she has experienced with a loved one.
