How effective is the combination of your

main product and ancillary texts?

All three of my

media pieces

share the same

title which is the

key piece to linking

all of the project

together.

The combination of my main

product and ancillary texts is

very effective as they all interlink

and you can see that they all relate.

The print advert and radio

trailer both advertise the

same slogan

This slogan links both advertisements to be part of the same production, and works well because it directly addresses the reader or listener making it feel personal to the viewer.

My radio trailer and documentary

both share the same voice over so when

people are watching the documentary

they will recognise that the two are both

interwined.

I have used the channel identity

in both of my promotional texts

so it advertises the schedule of my

documentary.

We have also used clips from the

documentary in the radio trailer so

people can have a small view of

what they will be seeing.

We have used on image in our

print advert that is striking, it

shows that our documentary is

going to talk about how toys

have changed and the impact

video games have had on

them and the children

who play with them.

The style of my media pieces

is mostly direct address, there is alot

of use of the word "you" and the

voiceover says "our" alot which interacts

viewers and makes them think that

they can relate.

The print advert for our documentary would appear in broadsheet newspapers as it taking a serious view on a topic that wouldn’t necessarily be considered serious, our documentary talks about the effects of toys, the development of them and how they are changing the world we live in using facts and statistics so we are trying to encourage well educated people to view it.

However as our topic is universal the print advert will also appear in tabloid newspapers such as the daily mail, our target audience is mainly parents who our over 25 but it can appeal to a variety of people so we want to advertise it to everyone because anyone can share an interest in toys and their effects

The radio trailer for our documentary will be advertised on national commercial radio stations like smooth radio, classic fm and absolute radio as these types of stations advertise to a mass audience and will inform a universal audience covering the majority of target audience.
