Evaluation Question 3

What have you learned from your audience feedback?

To get the audience feedback i decided the quickest and most efficient way would be to upload the video to facebook. After posting it i received a comment and a 'like' for the video. The comment posted was positive as they liked the editing but they said there should maybe have been a wider variety of shots.

Later there was another comment which was similar. This comment was about the timing of the music not being in perfect sync with the video, which we as a group noted but found very hard to correct as none of us had previously used the editing programme before. They liked the video but agreed that more shots would of benefited the video.

Alot of the comments seem to be about there being a wider variety of shots which i can see was slightly limited; however, when researching this particular genre i found that there were the same recurring shots throughout the videos i watched and the main one was medium close up.

People have seemed to ejoy the storyline

of the video and the concept of it meaning that it has been targeted at the correct social demographic.

The comment above is really positive. Although this person agrees with the others they believe that the fewer shots compliment the song. The song, as i have previously said is dark and emotive and Charlotte Haime has linked this to the reason why there are fewer shots.

The final comment is also positive again picking up on the slightly off timing but really enjoying the storyline and choice of song. The choice of genre paid off as it is very popular, by choosing a slightly newer and more contemporary artist we managed to appeal to a wider audience.

The teachers also helped us throughout our project by giving us useful feedback. When starting our digipak we didnt quite know how to lay i out as we were getting confused as what to include. Once we showed our teacher they told us that there was lest text needed and some main images. After we changed this the techer was happy with the product.

Because of the lyrics and style of the song our music video had to be dark and reflect the content of the song. We decided to shoot mainly in the dark as we believed this woould be most effective; however, once we showed the teacher our video he gave us feedback and said that there were too many dark shots and even a couple that were too dark to leave in. This meant we had to reshoot some of our video but obce we did this we saw the benefits of shooting in the dayight and adding effects to give a darker look.

Overall all of the feedback our group received was beneficial. The teachers feedback helped us and our peers feedback let us know what we would do differently next time.
