OJ
The 1990's
Clinton Impeached
- Initiated by the House of Representatives on December 19, 1998.
- On two charges, one of perjury and one of obstruction of justice
- Stemmed from allegations of Clinton's alleged affair with Former White House intern Monica Lewinsky.
- On June 12, 1994, Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman were found stabbed to death outside Nicole's condominium in the Brentwood area of Los Angeles.
- On June 17, after failing to turn himself in, Famous NFL Player OJ Simpson became the object of a low-speed pursuit in a white Ford Bronco SUV; TV stations interrupted coverage of the 1994 NBA Finals to cover his case. The pursuit, arrest, and trial were among the most widely publicized events in American history.

- With stunning speed, the Iron Curtain was lifted and the Cold War came to an end.
- People began to dispel the stereotype, still widely held in the US and elsewhere, of HIV as a ‘gay’ disease.
- This change began when NBA Star Magic Johnson was diagnosed with AIDS in 1991.
