What Were The Changes In Weapons Comparing WW1 and WW2?

Change #3

Machine Gun in WW1 vs WW2

So What?

The improvement on the machine gun made it to be more effective and longer lasting on the field than compared to the WW1 machine guns. It would also have more positive impact as to defending and advancing to the enemies and making it more deadly than before.

There has been many changes to machine guns because they were very key weapon used on the ground. There has been many changes such as designing the weapon so it could be more mobile, and fixing the overheating problem. They no longer had to use water jackets for over heating. It also improved on the long distance shooting and accuracy for the machine guns.

Change #3

Machine Gun in WW1 vs WW2

The Use of Machine Guns

Machine guns were used to take down the enemies that were trying to advance. Machine gun was known to be the best gun to have the most kills in WW1 and trench warfare. They would mow down the enemy's front line making it hard to advance.

Even though machine guns were really famous for killing many soldiers, it had overheating problems. To solve this problem, soldiers used water jackets to support the machine gun from overheating. The machine gun also had problems of not being able to be mobile because it was heavy. The machineguns also had a smaller caliber compared to WW2 machine gun, regarded as weak compared to the advanced.

The use of Tanks in Wars

WW2 Machine Gun

Aircraft used in WW2- For Example, P-40 Warhawk Fighter

Aircraft in wars were used as a flying tool for searching where the enemy base is or where the soldiers are heading to. They also fought in the war called, dogfights. They tried to take down the enemy planes as much as possible.

The tanks were used to break the stalemate problems in trench warfare. The tanks would be sent in first, deflecting many round as possible without getting destroyed and help soldiers to advance faster.

Comparing the aircraft, the design and the materials used making the aircraft was very different. Most of WW2 aircraft was made out of different metals. They did have machine guns as usual for consecutive dogfights. They increased the top speed of the aircraft to 430 mph and with almost to 2000 miles of range. They were also able to find a way to create a strong engine to be powerful. Another great addition has been made for the WW2 aircraft was the radio system. The pilots were able to communicate during the dogfights or flying in the air, making it useful for commanding in fights

Tanks in WW1 vs Tanks In WW2

Comparing these two tanks, the ability of the tanks are very different. The tanks used in WW1 was very slow, moving at a speed of 4mph, with the range of 22 miles. Although they had a slow advancements at the front, the tanks were able to get the job done with their amour having the thickness of 6-12mm and as well as damaging the enemies with their 2x6 pounder guns.

So What?

So What?

Change #1

Tanks in WW1 vs Tanks In WW2

Because of all the changes of the the tank's ability, the tank's achievement in WW1, and WW2 was very significant. They were able to move at a faster pace, and have more durability of taking the rounds form the enemies. The tanks overall was able to achieve their role efficiently and effectively advancing at the front.

WW1 Tank-For Example, British Mark V

The changes are very significant because now that the technology of the aircrafts have been advanced, it made the aircraft to be able to travel faster to several places, and give the idea to the society that airplanes can be used to travel to other countries.

Tanks in WW1 vs Tanks In WW2

Another weapon that has significantly changed comparing these two wars were the aircrafts. In WW1, the aircrafts were able to fly at a speed of 106 mph with range of 290 miles. The plane itself was made from wood, not metal because they didn't have powerful engine that can pull the weight. They also carried machine guns to attack the enemies in dogfights. It was the best invention for WW1 because with the fighter planes, they could take action in the sky.

Because of all the changes of the equipment and the technology, the difference in tank for WW1, and WW2 was very significant. The changes made the tank's ability to move easily and effective. They also made the engine to be powerful so that it could increase the speed of the tank. The WW2 tanks, have increased speed to 24mph, with the range of 100 miles. It also increased the armour around to 62 mm, making them more useful of engaging in battles at the front than before.

Background of Weapons

Weapons were like parts of soldier's body during the war. As time passed, the technology of weapons have changed drastically. Tanks, planes, guns and other kinds of weapons have changed if we compare these two different wars.

Conclusion

Overall, the changes on to the weapons had advanced through the time between WW1 and WW2. The uses of weapons compared to WW1 and WW2 have definitely increased. The weapons got more viable, deadly, and had increased in mobility to take action in war zone.
