During the process of filming, my group and i started off by taking pictures of the pupils in our year 13 common room, these images were used as cutaways to illustrate what the interview was about. Also we created our own mise-en scene, out of images that we had printed from the internet, of different types of telephones/mobiles that have developed over the years. This was used in the background of our interview. This illustrated what the interview was about.
We found a small quiet room with good natural lighting, where we then put our images up of the mobiles. We asked our interviewee to sit on a certain angle in a certain place, and then we began to film. As each question was asked the interviewee answered clearly. We filmed the interview in a medium close-up, so we had a clear image of the interviewee’s face and the background at the same time. We filmed from different angles, as we used a low-shot, a mid-shot and then we also had a medium close-up.
During the filming process it was a struggle to ensure that the camera stayed still, due to the fact we didn’t have a tripod, however we ended up balancing the camera on a table, with books underneath to keep it level. This allowed the camera to be more steady.
