The third mission

Picking litter

We picked litter around the school and in the local area on the 19th of March.

It was a perfect spring day - sunny, not cold or windy. We not only cleaned environment but also had a great time together.

The second mission was

Survey about food waste in the school canteen

There were 77 students who had lunch on the 22nd of January. They left 4.7 kg of leftovers: soup, vegetables, drink. Every pupil left about 60 grams of food or drink.

The situation could be better if pupils wouldn’t buy snacks in the local shop before the lunch break.

Enjoy

These Easter decorations are made of plywood pieces and painted with gouache.

Decorate

Picture frame is made of carton egg boxes. Nice flowers around can decorate any photo.

The authors are Laura and Karolina.

Penguin-toy can make a good mood and be a nice present for a friend.

All pieces of work are done with attitude and warmth:)

Laura's embroidered work "Two cats" shows it.

The composition "Storks in the nest" is made of an old vase, branches and carton, it symbolizes coming spring.

White Stork is the national bird of Lithuania and people believe that storks bring harmony to homes where they nest. This composition is done by Goda.

The first spring flowers are made by members of the school club "Studio of good ideas".

Reuse

We also showed what they can make of used items, for example, weave bracelets from knitting thread scraps and wear them on special occasions.

Corks, plastic margarine boxes, pieces of cloth can be used to make toy ships, dog's toy houses and other things.

The best solution of all these problems is REDUCING, REUSING AND RECYCLING.

Eco agents

Do you know what we have to do that it wouldn't happen?

Would you like to go on this road?

Play or rest in the forest clearing like this?

When we asked the question, "Do you recycle?", all primary school children answered, “Yes!”

Young Eco agents

We acted as young Eco agents at school this year.

Our first mission was to introduce primary school children with recycling, reducing and reusing items at our school.

And we asked them...

Climate change

People are motivated to use solar energy, insulate houses, use modern heating – there are special climate change programs that give partly funding to the inhabitants who modernize their houses.

Ecological farming

in Alovė

The traditions of ecological farming become more popular though the price of such products is still high in the cities and not everybody can afford to buy them.

But life in our agricultural village lets us use fresh ecological vegetables and fruit.

Ecology starts at home

Our families pay more and more attention to sorting waste and energy saving.

Almost none of the families throw away food leftovers – they are put into the fridge or given to domestic animals.

We also collect old batteries and bring them to special recycling centres so that to decrease pollution of the soil and atmosphere.
