Sagittaria sagittifolia (also called arrowhead due to the shape of its leaves) is a flowering plant, native to wetlands most of Europe from Ireland and Portugal to Finland and Bulgaria, as and in Russia, Ukraine, Siberia, Turkey, China, Australia, Vietnam and the Caucasus. It is also cultivated as a food crop in some other countries.

Spirodela polyrhiza is a species of duckweed known by the common names greater duckweed, common duckweed, and duckmeat. It can be found nearly worldwide in many types of freshwater habitat. It is a perennial aquatic plant usually growing in dense colonies, forming a mat on the water surface.
Using the keys to the determination we identified the different species of plants such as Nymphaea, Nuphar lutea, Spirodela polyrrhiza, Lemna minor, Phalaris arundinacea, Phragmites australis, Sagittaria sagittifolia, Acorus calamus, Iris pseudoacorus, Hydrocharis morsus-ranae, Myosotis scorpioides, Rumex hydrolapathum,
Iris pseudacorus (yellow flag, yellow iris, water flag) It is native to Europe, western Asia and northwest Africa. It is widely planted in temperate regions as an ornamental plant.
Rumex hydrolapathum (great water dock; water dock; giant water dock) is a species of perennial herbaceous plants in the genus Rumex native to fens and freshwater banks of Europe and Western Asia.

and commonly called backswimmers
because they swim upside down
and are often seen at the surface of the water.
We collected specimens of insects, crabs, annelids and identified them using keys for determination in a specially adapted laboratory of the Department of Biology, Evolution and Conservation of Invertebrates.
