What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why?
Bauer Media
- The Bauer Media Group owns magazines such as Q and Kerrang!
- I used Q as my main style model and looked at some covers of Kerrang! also so I believe that my magazine could potentially be distributed by Bauer as they distribute magazines much like mine
IPC Media
- IPC Media is a distribution company owned by Time Inc. which automatically makes it a contender
- It distributes NME Magazine which I also used as inspiration so I believe my magazine could also be distributed by IPC
Thrust Publishing
- Thrust Publishing would not be a good distributor for my magazine as it distributes magazines such as DJ Magazine which does not share the same features as my magazine
- It is also quite small compared to IPC or Bauer so this would also be a set back
Conclusion
I believe a company such as Bauer Media would be the most appropriate for distributing my magazine as it distributes magazines which were an inspiration to mine and are very similar
