Volleyball !
The International Olympic Committee (IOC) designated volleyball as an Olympic team sport, to be included in the 1964 Olympic Games.
Volleyball equipment hasn't changed much over the years, except that they used to not wear kneepads, until there was an accident and it crushed someones knee and they substituded with shoulder pads, until they created knee pads.

Volleyball was
invented in 1895 by
William G. Morgan
in Massachusets.
- The net must be at least 2 feet wide and 27 feet long.
- In 1897 all volleyball games had to have 9 sets to finish a game.
- The net must be 6 feet 6 inches from the ground.
- The server must stand with one foot on the back of the lineand must never cross the front line.
In 1913 volleyball was held in the Far Eastern Games.
- To recieve a point the first team must serve the ball over the net and if the ball hits the floor on the other teams side before they hit it then the first team will recieve a point.
- If the ball is hit outside the court it is then the other teams point.
- In 1900 the 9 set was eliminated from the game and went until one team got 21 points.
- In 1964 volleyball was played for the first time in Tokio.
- The rotation was added in 1922.
Started playing it in Cuba.
The name was
changed from Mintonette
to Volleyball.

- She was a member of the 2003 USA youth national volleyball team aswell.
- In 2006 Nicole reached her goal of 1000 kills in the first match of the season.
Training and scouting
- College coaches assess potential volleyball players on their skill, potential, academics and their fit with the program.
To train for volleyball you need a good high jumping skill, and lower body power and lots of power and agility in the legs for quick reaction time.
The US National Men's team began year-round training in Dayton, Ohio. Then moved to San Diego, CA.
The Association of Volleyball Professionals (AVP) was formed.
The US National Women's team began a year-round training regime in Pasadena, Texas (moved to Colorado Springs in 1979, Coto de Caza and Fountain Valley, CA in 1980, and San Diego, CA in 1985).
The World League was created.
The Women's Professional Volleyball Association (WPVA) was formed.
Volleyball was played by over 50 million people each year in over 60 countries
National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) made volleyball their fifteenth competitive sport.
New techniques added to the game included - the soft spike (dink), forearm pass (bump), blocking across the net, and defensive diving and rolling.
The sport of Volleyball was 100 years old!
Volleyball was introduced to the Olympic Games in Tokyo.
International University Sports Federation (FISU) held the first University Games in Turin, Italy. Volleyball was one of the eight competitions held.
