We must first define what technology is:

Technology is "anything that is used to perform a task"

A simple Google search of "technology" usually gives results like this, but technology has not always been like this. .

To Paleolithic people, "technology" looked more like this. . .

Notice what everything is made of - stone. These tools and weapons helped people "perform tasks," which is considered "technology."

Paleolithic food

These people mostly ate plants - grain, fruit, vegetables. Getting these foods was usually the women's job - they were considered the "gatherers."

Grains and nuts

Fruits

However, whenever possible, Paleo people enjoyed eating meat - deer, bear, elk, fox, etc (any wild animal they could hunt). Hunting was a job for men.

Meat was enjoyed, but hard to get

What did these people look like?

The answer: quite different than us. .

They were shorter

They lived much shorter lives than most people today

Their overall health was poorer. They lacked all the vitamins, minerals and nutrients we eat

Their hygiene was not good. . . bathing wasn't done very often, and when it was, they didn't use soap.

Their dental health was bad. Their food was usually so course that it made their teeth wear down very quickly. And it was way too expensive to visit the dentist

That was a joke - no dentists 2.5 million years ago.

Here's some pictures of what we THINK Paleolithic people looked like:
