Stop Motion Unit 33

Results

Research

Maybe I could try recreate some my

Comic strip using clay models. It

could be a little ambitious and out

of reach but it's worth a try. Plus we

will be in teams so it may not work

out that way.

Overview

Most Stop motion animations uses

Clay models and fast frame rates to

keep the animation fluid and seamless.

The fastest frame rate an animation

can be is around 72 because anything

faster would loose the effect and

Would no longer be fluid. After all it is

a series of images being played really

fast.

Ray Harryhausen!

He was the master behind great

Cult Classics like the Original Clash of

the Titans. He also created the original

story of Rapunzel entirely using clay and

stop motion

The beast himself

Oh look, there's

something in his

A scene from

Wallace and Grommit

We went to the Media museum in Bradford

It could be a cut-out animation. It could be simpler

Clay Models would be harder but would look better than cut outs!

Easy but not very nice to look at

We researched about all

the different types of

animation

Most likely

Ray Harryhausen usually uses clay models for his work. It think it could be interesting to try and make the animation out of clay Figures rather than humans or cut outs. it could be slightly challenging because of the time it takes to make a few seconds of video using clay-mation.
