Question 7

Photoshop

A new program on the Mac wasPhotoshop elements 9 was used on the Mac to design my magazines and edit the pictures that I have taken. Using Photoshop elements 9. I have managed to use layers so when making the puff the text goes behind the folded sticker so it looks like its actually written on the image. Also I have usedthe lasso tool from Photoshop elements to cut out people fromimages. I had to cut out someone from the picture andI managed to use the healing tool to put the background backbehind the picture. Also in photoshop i had discovered an effects pannel which i used over and image of the drummer making the colour effect look more like the rock colour theme.

What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?

Blogger

I used Blogger to upload all my work to as it is very easy to upload and organize the work. I have also used this before so I knew what to do which made it easier, at first I did try Yolasite however I was completely new to it, and it ended up easier to use Blogger.However i did learn how to make questionaires on the blog and post them at the side of the blog for the results which was very useful, for getting the results as they can see the work on the blog.

Prezi

Slide share is a site which allows you to upload documents to, which can be viewed and embeded and put on blogger, most of the documents was upload through Scribd but i found a better uploader slideshare which was much quicker and easier to upload also some document are uploaded by prezi. I had used Scribd before to upload documents however it caused many problems, so i found slideshare and was very simple to use without any problems but the mojority are uploaded by Scribd

Dafont and Brusheezy

Some of the work I used Prezi like now Im using, as you can see from this it is much more interesting colourful, then just using Word, this is used for some of my plannig aswell. However I did have to learn how to use it and it does take longer to create a piece of work, but is very good to present my work

Social sites

We used Facebook for questionaires and feedback on our work, but also helped us arrange times to take pictures for our magazine. I also used Gmail and twitter which also helped with questionaires and feedback.

These two websites, helped me with my poster and magazine. Dafont gave us fonts which was used for the title of my magazine and various other fonts on magazine, contents and double page spread. Brusheezy gave the brushes needed for the magazine to create effects as there are many different shapes of brushes you can get. I had used these websites. You had to download the files of what font or brush you want then put them into the photoshop program, some of them automatically done this.

Camera

We used sony 550D, which was good for taking pictures as it is 18 megapixels. It gave us a range of lenses for different shots and depths of field. This gave us professional looking photos which are need on out magazine pages, bad images would put people off from buying the magazine.

Screencast-o-matic

This website is a handy tool that I was new two that allowed me to video the computer screen, it very simple to use a easy for making video on computer.
